bOXXX

is an art collective tucked away in Amsterdam's Jordaan—medium in size, big on ideas.

We pretent to think outside the white cube. Actually, sometimes we forget the cube altogether.

Instead of traditional exhibitions, we create spaces where contemporary art comes alive. Expect unexpected encounters, fresh perspectives, and work by both emerging talents and established artists who aren't afraid to take a few creative risks.

Every exhibition is an invitation to step inside the story. Visual art meets live performance, audiences become part of the experience, and the line between spectator and participant starts to blur.

bOXXX began with three artists who couldn't stop making things together: a curator, a sculptor, and a choreographer. Different disciplines, one shared curiosity. We mix, experiment, question, and occasionally make a beautiful mess—bringing together art, movement, objects, and ideas in ways that surprise us as much as our visitors.

ZJEF VAN BEZOUW

ARTIST & CURATOR

Zjef van Bezouw is a Dutch mixed media artist, designer, and curator whose work includes performance, immersive spaces, fetish-wear, and footwear. He studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and DASARTS in Theatre Design.

Under his alias ZJEFWORKS, he creates multi-sensory experiences through space transformation, leather designs, and curatorial happenings that “burn onto your retina.”

From 2011 to 2019, he lived and worked in NYC as a gallery owner and creative consultant, and now splits his time between Amsterdam and Portugal. Here he launched BoaBoa in 2019, an arts and culture initiative raising the visibility and creating platforms for contemporary artists.

Now he's inspired by Amsterdam again, back to his roots where boxx art collective is a brand new adventure with two other creative friends with a shared vision and passion about art. Let's curate the unexpected together !

EDUARD HERMANS

SCULPTOR & CERAMIST

Eduad Hermans is a visual artist based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He primarily works in ceramic sculpture, photography, and theater design.
His current work explores human anatomy, often portraying faces with disillusioned expressions that seem to cry out in bewilderment. Yelling ambiguity is a fundamental aspect of Hermans’ practice: his pieces entice the viewer with their smooth shine and fragility, yet simultaneously confront them with a raw, almost beastly opposite side.
Hermans studied sculpture at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam from 1980 to 1985. During his studies, he experimented with busts and architectural-numerological constructions, while also working across various 3D disciplines such as theater design, jewelry, and ceramics. His fascination with sculpture began in childhood, building sandcastles in sandpits, and deepened at the age of 11 when he was captivated by the crowns and jewels in the Tower of London. Inspired by Picasso, the Greek classics, and Brancusi, he gradually developed his own sculptural language.
Hermans’ works have been widely exhibited in museums and galleries in the Netherlands and abroad. His theater designs have been produced on stages across Europe and beyond, and his art is included in collections worldwide.

MARTINO MULLER

CHOREOGRAPHER & PRODUCER

Martino Müller is a Swiss multidisciplinary artist, renowned for his work as a choreographer, director, and music producer in both dance and theatrical productions. With a career spanning more than four decades, he has collaborated with some of the world’s most prestigious dance companies and international entertainment productions. His distinctive blend of modern dance, theatrical storytelling, and acrobatics has captivated audiences worldwide.
He began his career as a dancer with the Karlsruhe and Stuttgart Ballet before joining the Netherlands Dance Theatre (NDT), where he worked for nine years under the groundbreaking choreographer Jiří Kylián. His transition into choreography was marked in 1997, when he created several ballets for NDT.
In 1998, he gained worldwide recognition with Notre-Dame de Paris. He went on to choreograph Prokofiev’s Romeo & Julia for the Gothenburg Ballet, along with many other works for companies across Europe.
For Cirque du Soleil, he choreographed Zaia in Macau (2008) and directed Butterflies in Beijing (2009).
In 2022, his most ambitious project premiered in China: Picking the Stars, a musical based on the video game Honor of Kings, created in collaboration with Beijing Poly Arts and Tencent. Müller directed, developed the concept, choreographed, and produced the complete musical score.
As co-founder of the PMP composer team with Polle van Genechten and Pieter Van Nieuwenhuyze, he created twenty-five original songs for Picking the Stars. Since then, he has expanded his musical work with many compositions for dance, including The Dog That Lit the Candle, a ballet score that premiered in Mannheim in 2025.
Müller remains dedicated to innovative, cross-disciplinary collaborations that unite choreography, theatre, and music on international stages.
