Sketching is his way of moving through life. He entered the Rietveld Academy as a painter, intending to pursue fashion illustration, yet ultimately found his voice in ceramics. Over time, his ambition grew: countless drawings transformed into sculptural forms, each one breathing from paper into space. From an early age, he has been enchanted by the aesthetics of the 1950s and 1960s. His subjects emerge as flamboyant show figures, yet also as shadowed, anonymous silhouettes—shapes and scenes that carry the spirit of that era. In recent years, the male figure has claimed a more prominent place, his characters increasingly breaking free, unfolding, and moving with lives of their own.
