This is the final weekend to see watercolours inspired by large ceramic works from Eduard Hermans’ Metropolis period at boxxx.

Over a period of approximately five years, beginning around 2000, Hermans created visionary cities resting on knives, daggers and swords. These ceramic city models depict a world in fragile balance. Looking back, he sees them as foreshadowing the struggles unfolding in cities today, where intellectual and cultural heritage are also at stake. Metropolis gave rise to several other projects, including a production of Romeo and Juliet in Sweden.
